In addition to everything we know about Atomfall, Rebellion has released a fresh gameplay overview trailer for the upcoming open-world action survival game. Set in Britain’s picturesque Lake District, Atomfall sees us unravel the fictional mysteries of the 1957 Windscale disaster and the quarantine zone we find ourselves in, oblivious to our past. Despite its beautiful surroundings, Atomfall is full of dangers, and we will have to fight tooth and nail if we want to piece together the mysteries of the quarantine zone. According to the trailer, our character is not the first “amnesiac” to arrive in the Lake District with no memory of their past lives.

With the zone under military control, filled with bandits and other monstrosities, and promising death at every turn, we’ll have to take a bold step into the unknown and explore camps, caves, abandoned bunkers, pagan ruins and more to uncover the truth .

The trailer gives us a look at a few weapons we can find, including cricket bats, rifles, revolvers, shotguns and more, all of which can be upgraded with recipes and resources we find on our adventures. We will also have a flashlight and metal detector at our disposal, the latter of which we can use to seek out hidden treasures.

Atomfall launches on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on March 27, 2025, and drops to Xbox Game Pass for Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers on day one.

From red phone boxes to a cup of tea, we’re looking forward to exploring this very British Fallout alternative when it leaves our list of upcoming Game Pass games in March. What about you? Planning to explore the Lake District in Atomfall later this year? Leave a comment below and let us know!
