Is JCPS, Bullitt, Oldham open Monday?

Some Louisville-area school districts are reopening on a delayed schedule Monday after another round of snow in the region.

Jefferson County Public Schools is among several districts opening with a 2-hour delay. Students were due to return to classrooms last week after winter break.

Here’s what you need to know about other school districts and area universities:

JCPS officials have announced a 2-hour delay “due to some side road conditions and sidewalk access to bus stops.”

Early childhood education will be canceled and some bus delays are expected, a district spokesperson said in a news release.

All dismissal times remain normal, as do after school sporting events and extracurricular activities.

New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated schools announced schools will operate on a 2-hour delay Monday, district officials announced.

In a statement, the district said students “may experience later than normal pickup times” Monday because some roads “are very difficult to navigate.”

“Buses will attempt to pick up all students, but if your road is a lane of traffic or still impassable, you may need to take your student to school,” the district said. “Please make sure you have downloaded the Stopfinder app and we will try to provide you with timely communication. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Oldham County Schools officials have not announced a decision on whether schools will be open Monday.

Bullitt County Public Schools students are set to return to classrooms in person Monday, district officials notified.

Shelby County Public Schools students are set to return Monday, the district advertised on social media.

Spencer County Public Schools students are expected to return to classrooms after a 2-hour delay Monday morning, the district announced Sunday afternoon.

“Having assessed bus routes today, we found that while the majority of our roads are in excellent condition, there are still a number of challenges, including low-hanging tree limbs and more parked cars in cul-de-sacs and turnings,” a statement read. “To ensure the safety of our students and drivers, we believe it would be beneficial for drivers to complete their routes after daylight hours.”

Greater Clark County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay Monday, the district said in a declaration.

“If your child’s bus cannot pick them up safely, you will receive a notification,” the statement read. “The driver will make this decision while en route, which may cause a delay in mass communication. If alternative transportation cannot be provided, please notify your child’s school. Absences will be marked as excused and students will have time to their work up.”

Clarksville Community Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay Monday, the district said in a statement.

Kentucky School for the Blind officials announced school is open on Monday.

Officials have not yet announced whether Archdiocese of Louisville Catholic elementary and high schools will be open Monday.

University of Louisville officials have not yet announced a decision on whether the campus will be open Monday.
