Magnitude 2.8 earthquake sends tremors through Richmond area

RICHMOND, Va. — Several neighbors in the Richmond area report feeling a tremor Tuesday night. As it turns out, it was a 2.8 magnitude earthquake centered in the Wyndham area of ​​Henrico County.

The earthquake happened around 5:30 p.m. Initial reports suggest it had a depth of seven miles.

CBS 6 asked our Facebook followers if they felt it. Hundreds of neighbors in Richmond and Henrico said they did.

“Yes! The whole house shook!!” Hannah Wells wrote.

“Big boom and the whole house shook. The foundation shook really hard,” wrote Debbie Roberts.
