Naomi Osaka vs. (20) Karolina Muchova

do Naomi Osaka Will the revenge ride continue?

In the first round, she avenged her loss to Caroline Garcia in the first round here last year, winning their AO 2025 rematch in three convincing sets.

Muchova was blistering in her first-round win over Nadia Podoroska, dismissing the Argentine in 61 minutes and dropping just two games.

Muchova heads head-to-head against Osaka and in their history of meetings dating back to 2020, it has always been a tough match.

Let’s hope for another barnstormer when they clash at the Kia Arena on Wednesday.

Matteo Berrettini v (13) Holger Rune

These are two players who are ranked much higher – Holger Rune on no. 4, Matteo Berrettini on no. 6 – but regardless of where they are placed, both are dangerous Grand Slam prospects.

Berrettini, the 2021 Wimbledon finalist, has struggled with numerous injuries since the peak of his career, but when he was healthy in 2024, he still managed to win three ATP titles. Since July, he has risen outside the top 80 to world no. 34, having won 21 of his last 29 matches and entering AO 2025 as one of the highest ranked unseeded players.
