Latest on Man City’s Omar Marmoush pursuit: Citizens ‘make official bid’ as Eintracht Frankfurt striker starts against Freiburg

Manchester City have reportedly made an official transfer bid to sign Egypt international Omar Marmoush from Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.

Manchester City has allegedly made an official offer regarding Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush.

The Citizens are working hard to strengthen their squad as they look to start a rebuild Pep Guardiola‘s team in the midst of what has turned out to be a disappointing campaign.

Man City could bolster their defense with a couple of additions, having made progress in deals to be signed LensAbdulkodir Khusanov and PalmeirasVitor Reis.

The Premier League champions have it reached an agreement with Lens over £33.5m while they have verbally agreed a transfer for Reis, who must undergo a medical examination prior to the move.

At the opposite end of the pitch, Man City are working on a deal to bolster Guardiola’s attacking options with the addition of Marmoush.

Man City table Marmoush bid

ONE latest report claimed Man City were making good progress in talks with Frankfurt over a move for the Egypt international.

Frank CEO Markus Krosche admitted over the weekend that a unnamed club had made contact over a transfer, although he revealed he still hoped Marmoush would stay at Deutsche Bank Park.

However, according to the journalist Fabrizio RomanoMan City have now stepped up their pursuit with an official bid for the Frankfurt striker.

The update claims Man City’s proposal falls ‘below Frankfurt’s expectations’, although there is ‘optimism’ that the two clubs will eventually reach an agreement.

Man City are apparently hopeful they can agree a fee with Frankfurt as they look set to complete the transfer before the end of the week.

Marmoush starts against Freiburg

While he could be the subject of a transfer bid, Marmoush has been named in Frankfurt’s starting line-up for their home game with Freiburg.

There is a possibility that it could be his last appearance for the German club if Man City can agree a deal with his current employers.

Marmoush scored in his previous outing for die Alder and scored the decisive goal in Saturday’s 1-0 away win over St. Pauli.

This strike took his total for the season to 19 goals in 25 games, including 14 goals in the Bundesliga.
