Breaking: UFC 311 gets new main event after Arman pulls out of Islam title fight

The UFC main event between Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan has been cancelled.

Tsarukyan pulled out of the five-round title fight for undisclosed reasons, sources told MMAmania. An original report from Red Corner MMA suggests that Tsarukyan withdrew due to injury; however, the campaign has yet to issue an official explanation.

Matchmakers are currently working on a short-notice replacement, and it should be noted that Renato Moicano made championship weight, leaving him eligible to challenge Islam Makhachev for the 155-pound strap.

That would require approval from the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC), so be sure to stick around – we’ll have that update as soon as it breaks.
