FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The United States men’s national soccer team begins its 2025 campaign on Saturday in a friendly against Venezuela.

The match starts at 3:00 PM ET and will be played at Inter Miami’s Chase Stadium.

It will be the fifth match that new USMNT coach Mauricio Pochettino will coach in his new position, and his squad will be loaded with Major League Soccer players hoping to make an impact ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Pochettino was hired to replace Gregg Berhalter in September and lead Team USA through the next World Cup, hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Saturday’s USMNT game will be the first of two games this week: The club will also face Costa Rica in Orlando City’s Inter&Co. Stadium Wednesday. Here’s everything you need to know for Saturday’s USMNT match:

Kickoff is set for 3 PM ET Saturday, January 18th.

The telecast will be available on TNT, with pre-game coverage at 2:30 p.m. ET. The Spanish-language telecast is available on Telemundo and Universo.

What to know about Venezuela

Venezuela has never qualified for a World Cup, but reached the 2024 Copa America quarter-finals after wins over Ecuador and Mexico in the tournament. They lost to Canada via penalty kicks.

Venezuela is eighth through 12 games in the Conmebol (South American) World Cup Qualifying standings after draws against Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.
