Pre-show

Arianna Grace heralded the new partnership between NXT and TNA as a liaison between companies. She took full responsibility and credit for facilitating the relationship. Enter Ashante “Thee” Adonis as the first surprise. He issued an open challenge to the TNA locker room. Jake Something answered the call.

Jake Something defeated Ashante Adonis. Jake’s power play was too much. The strongman won via swinging side slam. (Full details here.)

Frankie Kazarian defeated Leon Slater. Kaz gained control by pushing Slater off the turnbuckles crashing to the floor. Slater rallied with speed and flying high. He connected on a huge dive outside and ran around with excitement. Johnny Dango Curtis was in the comments section. He yelled at Slater to stop showboating. Slater wasted no time arguing about the criticism. The youngster went for a swanton 450 splash, but Kazarian put his knees up to block. Kaz scooped a roll-up and grabbed the tights for the win.

Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt called the action on commentary. McKenzie Mitchell debuted in TNA as a ring announcer.

X-Division Championship: Moose (c) defeated Ace Austin to retain the title. Moose unveiled a new belt design. (Full details here.) The battle was power versus speed. Ace took off towards the end, but the system was there to cause distractions. Johnny Dango Curtis joked with Ace on the outside. Moose aimed for a spear. Ace dodged and Moose jumped the JDC. Ace hit the fold handler on the floor. He loaded Moose into the ring. Ace saw Brian Myers and Eddie Edwards run down to the ring so he took them out with a dive. Back inside, Ace went for a springboard kick. Moose speared him out of the air. 1, 2, kick out Ace! After a few roll up attempts, Ace stunned Moose with a high kick. He went for the Art of Finesse to honor Chris Bey, but Moose tossed him off the air again. Moose hit another spear for the win. Great performance by Ace in defeat.

The system surrounded Ace for a beatdown. Eric Young and Steve Maclin arrived to make the save. That led to the next scheduled match.

Eric Young & Steve Maclin defeated Brian Myers & Eddie Edwards. Alisha Edwards blocked Maclin from the Tree of Woe spear on Myers. Eddie distracted the referee. Alisha hit Maclin, then Myers impaled him. Kick out of Maclin. Young rescued his partner from the system’s backpack-stunner combination. EY took care of Edwards and Maclin hit the KIA finisher on Myers for the win.

Knockouts Tag Team Championship: Jody Threat & Dani Luna (c) defeated Ash by Elegance & Heather by Elegance to retain the titles. Ash and Heather were dressed as Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. Like the Cowboys for the past 25+ years, they also failed to win the big one. Luna was the game-changer with a flurry of German suplexes. A huge deadlift German suplex to Ash over the ropes set up the Pressure Drop powerbomb combo for the win. Commentary wondered if Ash was the legitimate competitor, so this feud might not be over.

Tessa Blanchard defeated Jordynne Grace. Cool fight. Grace performed creative power moves. Blanchard used crafty offense to swing the momentum. The story of the finish was Blanchard trying to remove a turnbuckle. She had problems the first two times. Blanchard went out anyway for a hammerlock DDT on the pad. Grace threw out on the front page. Blanchard went back to that tactic and eventually managed to pull off the turnbuckle. She did a bulldog on the exposed steel. Blanchard went airborne for a flying Codebreaker. (Full details and highlights here.)

I Finished The Match: Mike Santana defeated Josh Alexander. Northern Armory was banned from ringside. Alexander punished Santana for most of the match. When told to stop, Santana laughed and said there’s nothing in his blood. Alexander countered with more pain and a C4 spike piledriver. Santana emerged with Adrenaline for a turnbuckle bomb, avalanche rana, frog splash and Spin the Block lariat. Santana zip-tied Alexander’s hands behind his back to slapjack him. Alexander would not quit. When Santana threatened to stomp into the steel steps, Alexander finally gave up. Alexander was a man of his word to shake Santana’s hand and pass the torch as the standard bearer of TNA. Then Alexander dropped the bombshell that he was leaving TNA. (Full details here.)

TNA World Tag Team Championship: Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy (c) defeated Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz to retain the titles. Uninvited, Fraxiom pulled up to a ringside seat. After accidental collisions into the NXT tag team champions during the match, tensions were at a boil. Security intervened to escort Fraxiom to the back. The Hardys and Rascalz traded near falls. In the end, Trey was the victim of a twist of fate from Jeff, a twist of fate from Matt, and a swanton bomb from Jeff.

Knockouts Championship: Masha Slamovich (c) defeated Rosemary in Raven’s Clockwork Orange House of Fun match to retain the title. Hardcore weapons all around. The big spots were a crossbody by Slamovich over the ropes into Rosemary through a table, Rosemary bringing out Janice, a snowplow from Slamovich onto a barbed wire board, Rosemary pushing over a ladder to send Slamovich crashing through tables. The final blow was an avalanche pile driver by Slamovich on chairs. After the match, Cora Jade of NXT had a staredown with Slamovich. The implication was a future Knockouts title match. (Full details on NXT appearances here.)

TNA World Championship: Joe Hendry defeated Nic Nemeth (c) to win the title.

Ryan Nemeth ran his mouth, so Santino Marella banned him from ringside for the main event. It should also be noted that Frankie Kazarian previously stated that he would be eyeing the World Championship to cash in on his Call Your Shot trophy if the opportunity pleases him.

During the game, Ryan returned with a front row ticket.

Clean back and forth wrestling until Kaz ran down to cash in as both Nemeth and Hendry were exhausted on the mat. JBL! JBL wouldn’t have that. He hit a clothesline from hell on Kaz and then hit Ryan for good measure. JBL left and the match ended cleanly.

Down the stretch, Hendry dove off the Danger Zone finisher to hit the Standing Ovation slam. Nemeth kicked out! Hendry walked to another Standing Ovation. Nemeth escaped and hit a superkick plus a danger zone. Hendry threw out. Hendry caught a superkick to counter a foul. The challenger was full of energy to hit the Standing Ovation for the win. The crowd celebrated in cheers. (Full details here.)
