Trump urged Republicans to unite around carrying out his agenda despite House Speaker Mike Johnson’s slim Republican majority in the lower chamber.

Speaking at Capitol One Arena on Sunday night, Trump said “House Republicans won their largest popular vote majority in a presidential year since 1928” and called Johnson a “great leader.”

“He has a fairly narrow majority, but in fact it is very narrow, but it is very good, because we vote together. We really vote together,” Trump said. “So it won’t make much of a difference in the 2024 election, which will be the most consequential election in American history. We want to not only mandate, but build a new American majority to propel our country to unparalleled success for generations to come.”
