Ohio State football Judkins, Henderson both 1,000-yard rushers

Ohio State has two 1,000-yard rushers for the 2024 season. TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins both reached that benchmark in Monday’s national championship game against Notre Dame, and the moment it happened came in dramatic fashion, when Judkins broke off a 70-yard run at the start of the second half.

It’s just the third time in school history that Ohio State has fielded two such prolific rushers. The last time it happened was in 2013, when running back Carlos Hyde had 1,521 yards and quarterback Braxton Miller 1,068. Before that, Archie Griffin (1,577) and Pete Johnson (1,059) each eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in 1975

TreVeyon Henderson’s stats

Henderson, a senior from Hopewell, Virginia, entered Monday with 967 yards on 132 carries (a 7.3-yard average) and had 10 rushing touchdowns.

For his career, he had 3,705 rushing yards and 42 rushing touchdowns.

Quinshon Judkin’s stats

Judkins, a junior from Pike Road, Alabama, had 960 yards on 183 carries (a 5.2-yard average) before Monday night. He had run for 12 touchdowns.

After spending his freshman and sophomore seasons at Miss Ole before transferring in January, most of his career 3,685 rushing yards and 43 rushing touchdowns came with the Rebels.
