Brentford vs Nottingham Forest predictions

Brentford boast the best home form in the Premier League, while Nottingham Forest are flying high in fourth after back-to-back wins over Manchester United and Aston Villa, making this match something of a conundrum for punters.

The Bees have taken 22 points from a possible 24 at home, but Bournemouth are the only current top-half team they have hosted, suggesting this could be their toughest test yet.

Forest have the third-best away form in the English top-flight and are the only side to have beaten leaders Liverpool this season, while they have also secured draws against Brighton and Chelsea.

So betting on goals may be the safest approach as Brentford’s eight home league games this term have seen the net bulge a total of 40 times, with both teams scoring on each occasion.

Forest remain without a clean sheet in six away league games, although their 3-2 win at Manchester United in their last road trip highlights the threat they possess with goalkeeper Chris Wood leading the line and Morgan Gibbs-White pulling the strings.

Brentford vs Nottingham Forest keep news

Brentford: Defender Sepp van den Berg is unavailable through injury in the warm-up to Wednesday’s EFL Cup quarter-final defeat to Newcastle, while Ethan Pinnock limped off in that game and is also out. Igor Thiago, Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey, Mathias Jensen, Josh Dasilva and Gustavo Nunes are also missing.

Nottingham Forest: Murillo and Ryan Yates face fitness tests but are expected to be available, while Danilo has returned to training and Alex Moreno is back after being ruled out of last weekend’s win over parent club Aston Villa. Ibrahim Sangare is still out.

Ipswich v Newcastle predictions

Ipswich are the only Premier League team without a home win, but they have drawn four of their eight games at Portman Road and can avoid defeat against Newcastle, who are often unreliable on their travels.

The Tractor Boys are third on the table with 12 points but head into the weekend in high spirits thanks to last Saturday’s dramatic 2-1 win at Wolves.

At some point, Kieran McKenna’s side need to start winning a few home games, but they came close in this month’s 2-1 loss to Bournemouth when they conceded in the 87th and 95th minutes.

It is undoubtedly a disadvantage that they take on Newcastle without star striker Liam Delap, who is serving a one-match ban, but Ipswich have built a strong team ethic and should still be able to offer a stern challenge.

Newcastle progressed to the last four of the EFL Cup on Tuesday with a dominant 3-1 win at home to Brentford, but it’s worth remembering that they lost 4-2 to the same opponents in their last Premier League away game.

They have won just one of their last six away games and could be denied maximum points in Suffolk.

Ipswich v Newcastle keep news

Ipswich: Liam Delap is serving a one-match ban, while Axel Tuanzebe, George Hirst, Janoi Donacien and Chiedozie Ogbene miss out. Sammie Szmodics has recovered from illness.
Newcastle: Joelinton is serving a ban. Callum Wilson, Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles, Nick Pope and Emil Krafth remain unavailable.

Ipswich vs Newcastle predicted line-ups

Ipswich (4-2-3-1): Muric; H Clarke, O’Shea, Burgess, Davis; Morsy, Cajuste; Burns, Chaplin, Hutchinson; Al-Hamadi
Newcastle (4-3-3): Dubravka; Livramento, Schar, Burn, Hall; Guimaraes, Tonali, Longstaff; Murphy, Isaac, Gordon

Ipswich v Newcastle key state

Ipswich have scored the first goal in five of their last eight games

Best Bets for Ipswich vs Newcastle:

West Ham v Brighton predictions

Julen Lopetegui is favorite to be the next Premier League manager to go, but his West Ham side have taken four points from their last two games and look overpriced to beat Brighton at the London Stadium.

There has been a lot of negativity surrounding West Ham’s performances this season, but the Hammers are just five points behind ninth-placed Brighton, who are considered to be among the best-run clubs in the division.

Lopetegui’s side have picked up ten points from their last five home games and have a reasonably healthy squad, with Niclas Fullkrug closer to full match fitness and pushing for his first start of the season.

Fullkrug came off the bench after 56 minutes in Monday’s 1-1 draw with Bournemouth and his physical presence and eye for goal could help the Londoners press on in the second half of the season.

While West Ham have gained a centre-forward, Brighton are without Danny Welbeck, who is struggling with an ankle injury.

Welbeck was sorely missed last Sunday as the Seagulls slumped to a 3-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace and his continued absence could benefit West Ham, who can make it four home wins in six.

West Ham v Brighton keep news

West Ham: Emerson is available after a suspension, but Carlos Soler must serve a one-game ban. Jean-Clair Todibo has doubts.
Brighton: Joel Veltman and Matt O’Riley have been cleared and Adam Webster is back in training. Danny Welbeck, Ferdi Kadioglu, Jack Hinshelwood, Solly March and James Milner remain out.

West Ham vs Brighton predicted lineups

West Ham (4-1-4-1): Fabianski; Wan-Bissaka, Mavropanos, Kilman, Emerson; Alvarez; Kudus, Soucek, Paqueta, Bowen; Full mug
Brighton (4-2-3-1): Verbruggen; Veltman, Van Hecke, Dunk, Estupinan; Baleba, O’Riley; Minteh, Rutter, Mitoma; João Pedro

West Ham v Brighton key state

West Ham have won three of their last five Premier League home games
