Zendaya and Tom Holland are reportedly engaged. From ‘Spider-Man’ lovers to a holiday proposal, a look at their private romance.

Zendaya’s sparkly diamond accessory at the Golden Globes — not to mention her “T” tattoo — definitely got people talking. It has since been reported that she is engaged to long-term love Tom Holland.

True to their efforts to keep their love lives private, they have not officially announced their engagement, but both TMZ and People confirmed the news through sources close to the couple. TMZ said it happened at one of her homes over the holidays and was an intimate moment between just the two of them.

The pair, both 28, are a match made in Hollywood — more specifically, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Zendaya was cast as “MJ”, the love interest of Holland’s Peter Parker/Spider-Man, in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. Real-life romance rumors swirled around the couple almost immediately. Their relationship was only confirmed four years later when they were photographed kissing in a car, and since then they have shared aspects of their love story.

She appeared on the British actor’s Instagram for the first time.

Fans quickly anointed them with a couple of nicknames: “Tomdaya.” No one was lost the previous time Spider-Man co-stars Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Maguire, as well as Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone found love on set – at least for a while.

2017: Their close friendship sparked dating reports, but they kissed and didn’t tell

The connection between Billy Elliot actor and Disney Channel alum was evident while promoting the film across the globe.

They laughed it off on social media, but the rumors persisted.

In August was Euphoria actress denied they were dating, but called Holland “one of my best friends.” Four months later, they were seen at a restaurant with his parents.

2018: They filmed Spider-Man: Far From Home

They were working on their second Spidey movie – and showed each other lots of love on social media, including his praise of her Met Gala lookbut fans wondered: Are they or aren’t they?

2020: They started filming Spider-Man: No Way Home

During COVID, they reunited in Atlanta to work on the film.

2021: Their relationship was finally confirmed with a car kiss

Fans erupted when they were discovered make out in a car in July with a paparazzo capturing the intimate moment.

The Netherlands issued one birthday tribute to “My MJ” – and she had a flirtatious response.

They continued to let their guard down a bit in front of photographers. Zendaya didn’t just accompany Holland to the premiere of his film unchartered, but they were obviously holding hands.

When Zendaya won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Euphoriashe told E! News that the first person she texted was her “boyfriend.”

They went on public dates, including one to a New York Rangers hockey game.

2023: Zendaya started sporting a ‘T’ ring

Before getting her engagement bling, Zendaya debuted a ring with Holland’s initials.

She told Elle that year she was done hiding the relationship, saying: “Parts of my life I accept become public. I can’t not be a person and live my life and love the person I love. But I also have control over what I choose to share. It’s about protecting the peace and let things be your own, but don’t be afraid to exist. You can’t hide either. I’m navigating it more than ever.”

Holland told The Hollywood Reporter that he was still afraid to let the world in, saying, “Our relationship is something that we’re incredibly protective of and we want to keep as sacred as possible. We don’t feel like we owe anybody that, that’s our thing and it has nothing to do with our career.”

Holland told BuzzFeed he didn’t need charisma because his girlfriend had it in spades. “I’m happy and in love,” he said. “I have no rizz at all. I have limited rizz.”

At the beginning of the year, Holland told TMZ that the rumors that he and Zendaya were breaking up were “absolutely not” true.

While promoting DuneZendaya was asked by Buzzfeed which of her co-stars has the most rizz – and she took the opportunity to shout out to her boyfriend: “I think someone who has beautiful charisma, not on Dune cast, but personally working for me is mr. Tom Holland. … He has the natural gift.”

Zendaya told Vanity Fair that it was never difficult to work with his girlfriend. “It’s actually strangely pleasant,” she said. “It’s like second nature, if anything. You feel extra comfortable with the person you’re acting next to. I love working with him. He’s so talented and so passionate about what he does. He always delivers A thousand percent, although he is completely worn out. It feels quite normal. It was literally at a chemistry reading.”

At the end of the year, Holland said further The dish podcast that he was excited to spend the holidays with “my girlfriend’s family.” We now know that it was during the holidays that he popped the question.

2025: Zendaya debuted her engagement ring at the Golden Globes

The Challengers actress showed up to the awards show on January 5 without Holland, but with a sparkling diamond. She didn’t comment on her new hardware — even when a Los Angeles Times reporter asked her point-blank, “Are you engaged?” According to the outlet, she kept showing off her ring, smiling and “mysteriously shrugging.” Yahoo Entertainment’s Taryn Ryder noted that Zendaya made no effort to hide what was on her left hand and showed it to The bear actress Ayo Edebiri. Fans also noticed a “T” tattoo on her ribs.

A day later, TMZ and People reported that she is engaged to Holland, who had popped the question over the holidays at Zendaya’s home. People reported that the ring appears to be one Jessica McCormack diamond.
