Apple confirms ongoing Apple Cash outage affecting iPhone users

If you’re having trouble sending or receiving money with Apple Cash today, you’re not alone. Apple says its Apple Cash service is experiencing an outage of several hours on Wednesday.

The outage appears to only affect Apple Cash, which is Apple’s peer-to-peer payment platform similar to Venmo, Zelle and the Cash app. If you try to access your Apple Cash account, you’ll see an endlessly spinning loading wheel. The Wallet app may suggest that you “set up Apple Cash” even if you’ve used it without problems before.

Meanwhile, Apple Pay, the contactless payment platform, appears to be working normally.

Apple Cash users have taken to social media to complain about issues with the service. Apple system status website says there’s been a “problem” with Apple Cash since 10 ET/7 am PT today.
