As snow and ice left by Winter Storm Blair lingers in the Louisville area, some schools are playing it safe by closing or scheduling virtual learning days for Thursday.

Students in some area school districts, including Jefferson County Public Schools, have had an extended winter break due to the inclement weather.

Check our list below for the latest updates on whether classes in your district will be in session Thursday.

JCPS will have a traditional snow day with no online learning on Thursday, district officials announced.

A decision on whether schools will be open on Friday will be made on Thursday evening.

New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated schools are closed for all activities Thursday, the district said in a statement.

School will make up the day on Thursday, March 20, 2025, the district added.

Oldham County Schools officials have not announced a decision on whether schools will be open Thursday.

Bullitt County Public Schools will have a “Bullitt Day” Thursday, meaning there will be no school for students, but teachers and staff will report to work, district officials said. Students will return to either in-person or non-traditional classes Friday, with a final decision to be made Thursday afternoon based on road conditions.

Spencer County Public Schools will hold classes under the non-traditional teaching model on Thursday and Friday, district officials notified.

“While NTI is not an ideal scenario, it allows our students and staff to stay engaged in learning during this time,” said Cameron Chesser, the district’s director of transportation.

Greater Clark County Schools will be closed Thursday and Friday the district said. Students are not expected to participate in e-learning activities either day, district officials added.

The missed days are made up on May 6 and May 22.

Clarksville Community Schools will have distance learning days Thursday and Friday, district officials notified.

Kentucky School for the Blind officials announced that the school will be closed traditional snow days Thursday and Friday.

Jefferson County Catholic Elementary and High Schools will be closed Thursday and Friday.

The University of Louisville will have in-person classes Thursday, UofL officials said in a statement.

University of Kentucky officials have not issued any statements indicating the university will be closed Thursday.

The university was opened on Wednesday after two hour delay.

All classes at Bellarmine University will take place remotely on Thursday and Friday, university officials announced. Personal lessons resume on Saturday.

Spalding University officials announced Thursday will be a distance learning and work day for students and staff.

Simmons College of Kentucky students will have distance learning Thursday and Friday, according to a statement from the university website.
