Lions OL coach Hank Fraley to interview for Seahawks OC job

It appears the Detroit Lions will have to worry about losing more than just offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn this offseason. According to the NFL Network, Lions offensive line coach Hank Fraley is set to interview for the Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator position on Friday.

This is the first offensive coordinator interview for Fraley, a longtime NFL offensive line coach. Fraley spent three years as the Vikings’ offensive line coach, one year at UCLA, two years as the Lions’ assistant offensive line coach before being promoted to his current position back in 2020.

Fraley has been an invaluable asset in building the Lions’ offensive line into one of the best units in the NFL. Fraley is so beloved by his players that tackle Taylor Decker personally told head coach Dan Campbell to keep his coaching position back in 2021.

“One thing I directly asked for was to give Hank an opportunity to be interviewed for the job,” Decker said. “You don’t just have to clean the house, because I think he does a really good job. I think he has a really good understanding of the game. Studying the hell out of all and all defenses. And I think his approach to providing information and new techniques is great because he played the game for 11 years. He’s good in the room – a lot of young guys in the room – and I think he’s done a really good job.”
