Walmart recalls Great Value Family Size Chciken Broth sold in several states

The cartons were sold in several states — including Texas — late last year.

AUSTIN, Texas – Walmart wants customers to throw away one of its chicken broth products, which is mostly sold across southern states.

The 48 ounce Great Value Family Size Chicken Broth cartons have a shelf life that lasts until March 2026. They were sold in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas late last year.

According to the US Food and Drug Administration, the recall affects more than 2,000 cartons sold in 242 stores in the nine states. The containers reportedly had packaging problems that could lead to the broth spoiling, but no illnesses have been reported so far.

Walmart is urging those who purchased the chicken broth to throw it away or return it for a full refund. The dealer is currently working with its supplier to investigate the matter.

According to the Mayo Clinic, consumption of the recalled broth can lead to food poisoning, which includes symptoms such as stomach upset, diarrhea or vomiting.
