NBA releases Last 2 Minute Report for Warriors vs. Raptors

The NBA took a while to get to their Monday games, but they have officially listed the last 2 minutes for Monday’s games. The Golden State Warriors’ heartbreaking loss to former teammate Chris Boucher and Toronto Raptors qualified for the Last 2 Minute Report, which runs a comb through all plays in the last two minutes of close games to judge which calls and non-calls were made correctly or incorrectly.

While the game had drama, it was not controversial. The Warriors went the old-fashioned way and threw the game away, and the refs agree. Of the 14 incidents in the final two minutes reviewed by the NBA, the league office determined that all 14 were accurately called or not called.

That includes Buddy Hield’s three-point attempt in the final seconds. With the Warriors inbounds and down by three, it was reasonable to expect Toronto to foul out. Hield got a shot off right away very quickly, and perhaps hoping to make that contact, he ended up not doing his best, with the ball going out of bounds after missing the rim completely. It was the final shot in a tough shooting effort for Hield, who slipped into the starting lineup due to Draymond Green’s absence but shot just 3-for-13 from the field.

Designating the absence of a whistle on Hield’s shot as a correct non-call, the league explained that “Barrett (TOR) legally disputes Hield’s (GSW) jump shot attempt.” Concise and precise.
