Nintendo is announcing the Switch 2, and Dallas will be one of the first places to see it

Nintendo confirmed on Thursday that it will release its long-awaited successor to its Switch console in 2025 — and Dallas will be one of the first places to get a preview.

Nintendo – maker of popular titles such as Super Mario and Legend of Zelda – dropped the name of the new console, Switch 2, along with a video highlighting the exterior design features of the new console.

The video game maker also announced three US locations where it would host a “Switch 2 Experience” in New York, Los Angeles and Dallas.

The Dallas event will take place at the Embarcadero Building in Fair Park from the 25th-27th. April. Registration for the event opens on 17 January on the company’s website.

Nintendo says it will host a random drawing for tickets to the event for all those who sign up.

The event in New York will be held April 4-6 and in Los Angeles April 11-13.

The Japanese game maker plans to drop more details about the new console at its Nintendo Direct event on April 2.

Nintendo didn’t release any new titles, but the teaser video was previewed what appears to be a Mario Kart sequel. The console will also be able to play both Nintendo Switch 2 and original Nintendo Switch games, it said.
