The swearing-in ceremony for incoming President Trump will be moved indoors due to cold temperatures forecast for Washington, DC, Fox News has learned.

Trump announced Friday that he had ordered his inaugural address and other ceremonial prayers and speeches to be held in the United States Capitol Rotunda because of expected winter conditions.

“The forecast for Washington, DC, with the wind chill factor, could bring temperatures down to severe record lows,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, addressing the expected cold.

“There’s an arctic blast sweeping across the country. I don’t want to see people hurt or injured in any way. These are dangerous conditions for tens of thousands of law enforcement officers, first responders, police K9s and even horses, and hundreds of thousands of bystanders , who will be outside for many hours on the 20th (In any case, if you decide to come, dress warmly!).”

Brutal cold and gusty winds are expected for the DC region on Monday, with temperatures expected to drop into the upper 20s, FOX Weather reported.

With the wind chill it will feel more like single digit temperatures. There is also a chance of snow from a storm forecast on Sunday.

Trump said Capital One Arena will be open Monday for live viewing of his inauguration “and to host the presidential parade.”

“I’ll be joining the crowd at Capital One after I’m sworn in,” Trump wrote.

The three inauguration balls on Monday will continue as planned.

The inauguration committee has not yet commented on Trump’s decision.
