The Titans are reportedly hiring Chiefs’ Mike Borgonzi as their new general manager

The Tennessee Titans are reportedly hiring Mike Borgonzi as the franchise’s newest general manager, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Borgonzi, who was one of six candidates the Titans faced twice, replaces Ran Carthon, who was fired last week after two seasons in charge.

Borgonzi has been with the Kansas City Chiefs in various roles since 2009 and has served as the team’s assistant GM since 2021. He also worked in college and professional scouting, as well as player personnel and football operations roles in the organization.

After Carthon’s dismissal, Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk said that president of football operations Chad Brinker would lead the search for the next GM and that head coach Brian Callahan would remain with the team.

Brinker will also be “final authority on all football matters,” not the new GM, though Borgonzi will lead the way when it comes to free agency and the draft.

Leading the franchise’s draft decision-making will be important in 2025, as the Titans, who went 3-14 last season, held the overall No. 1 selection.
