Travis Kelce shares an update on his film debut i Happy Gilmore 2.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, said on the Monday, Jan. 13, episode of ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show that he has a “few scenes” in the upcoming Adam Sandler comedy and that the film adaptation was a “huge load” of work.

“It was a dream come true, I thought SNL was going to be the pinnacle of my acting and showman or entertainment career. Working with Happy Gilmore himself, the Sandman and Happy Productions, it was off the chain,” he added, per Black.

Kelce shared that performing alongside Sandler was not unlike working with the Chiefs coach Andy Reid.

“They are so professional and yet so much fun to work with. I felt like I was working with the Andy Reid of the acting world,” he said. “(Sandler) is as cool off screen as he is on screen. It was a dream come true. It was fantastic.”

The NFL star publicly lobbied for a role in the comedy sequel during a May 2024 episode of his and his brother Jason Kelce‘s “New Heights” podcast.

Addressing a theory that he could appear in the film, Travis said: “Man, I didn’t even know there was a vacancy for Happy Gilmore 2.”

Travis added that he’s a “huge Sandman fan” and would jump at the chance to appear in a film with Sandler, but ultimately said it was all “a conspiracy theory.”

“I want extra… everything to get around Happy Gilmorean Adam Sandler movie or a set — count me in,” he added. “I want to do anything in the movie. I want to be a part of it in any way I can.”

A few months later, in August 2024, Sandler confirmed that Travis would appear in the film.

“Travis has … he mentioned it, so we have something good for Travis,” Sandler, 58, chimed in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Gushing over Travis, the actor added: “He’s a very nice guy. You’d love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s a stud and he’s so funny.”

Happy Gilmore 2 is set for release on Netflix later this year. As well as Travis, the rapper Eminem and WWE star Becky Lynch is also set for cameos
