‘SNL’ weekend update rips Mark Zuckerberg cozying up to Trump

The meta boss “flew down to Mar-a-Lago to meet with Donald Trump and boy is his knees tired,” jokes Colin Jost

Saturday Night LiveThe weekend update covered several elements of the presidential transition process, including a new portrait of Donald Trump, figures like Mark Zuckerberg cozying up to the president-elect, and some of President Joe Biden’s final actions while in office.

“It’s the beginning of a new era,” began co-anchor Colin Jost. “Donald Trump released his official portrait and the picture is lit, I guess, by hell breaking loose.”

“Trump is trying to look so hardcore in his picture that I’m surprised he didn’t add a parent sticker and a durag,” he joked.

“And then Trump also released the official portrait of JD Vance,” he continued as an anonymous gray avatar appeared on the screen.

Later, Jost spoke about the cease-fire agreement between Israel and Hamas. In other words, Jost said, the two parties have “committed to their version of Dry January.”

“President Biden said the Israel/Hamas ceasefire negotiations were one of the toughest negotiations he had ever seen,” Jost continued. “The hardest part was convincing both sides that he was still president.”

Michael Che then responded to Biden naming Navy aircraft carriers after two of his predecessors: George W. Bush and Bill Clinton.

“The boat will also honor Bill Clinton by being covered in sailors,” Che said.

As for Zuckerberg donating $1 million to Trump’s inaugural committee and taking the pro-Trump step of removing fact-checking on Facebook and Instagram, Jost’s line was succinct:

“Meta CEO and Puerto Rican gigolo Mark Zuckerberg flew down to Mar-a-Lago to meet with Donald Trump, and boy are the knees tired.”
