Sunday Brunch Stopped When Guest Pulls Out of Performance at Last Minute | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Sunday Brunch star Tim Lovejoy spoke about a big change that had to be made to the show at the last minute. During the latest installment of the Channel 4 show, the host wasted no time in informing viewers that the guest line-up was not as planned.

He said: “Before we start, I just want to wish The Lumineers the best of luck. They had to pull out. They’re currently on vocal rest. They were supposed to be on the show.”

However, it seemed that another artist, Victoria Canal, was able to step up. Tim informed people watching that the singer was actually booked to perform at Sunday Brunch at a later date.

Addressing Victoria, the Channel 4 star said: “You rearranged everything, so thank you for coming on the show at such short notice.”

Tim asked curiously when she found out she would be performing at Sunday Brunch this weekend. She replied: “I flew into London yesterday and when I turned on my WIFI there was a series of messages like, ‘Is this going to work? Can we make it work?’. We got it working. “

Victoria added: “I had a music teacher a long time ago, like 10 years ago, who said to me, ‘This is going to stay with me forever.’ He said: ‘It’s sad to be ready and not get the call, but it’s tragic to get the call and not be ready.’

Tim seemed impressed by her teachers’ words, calling them brilliant. The Sunday Brunch star then recalled a similar experience the show had when The Madness appeared on the show.

He told Victoria that the artist scheduled to perform had to pull out, and the band’s frontman, Suggs, asked if they could step in.

Tim admitted the request took him back, saying: “He (Suggs) said, ‘That’s what I want to do, sing, that’s my job.’ So he said to me, ‘If I can get our keyboard player, Mike from the band, out of bed, we can do it!

He thanked Victoria once again for stepping in at the last minute, pointing out that she was most likely jet lagged from her flight.

When asked where she was before landing in the UK, she replied: “Seattle, the coffee was pretty good. It’s actually warmer there than it is here.

“But I went skiing and had a lot of hot chocolate while I was there.”

Elsewhere on the show, Dancing on Ice’s Fern McCann spoke about her appearance in the ITV competition and described the changes to her body.

She said: “It’s definitely changed. I feel like I’ve never eaten so much because you exercise a lot and your mind, even though it’s physical, learns a new skill.

“So I need the energy, I eat more. Before I signed up for Dancing on Ice, everyone who had done it before and the coaches were all talking about the ‘skate switch’ because you’re constantly in a squat position you have to have your knees bent .

“I really feel the skate boot looks great!”
