Prepare for heavy snow in parts of Pennsylvania Sunday afternoon

The National Weather Service issued a report at 12:58 a.m. Sunday for heavy snow until noon. 14 for Blair, Huntingdon, Somerset, Bedford and Fulton counties.

“At 12:56 p.m., a streak of heavy snow was along a line extending from near Lewistown to near Hollidaysburg to Hyndman, moving east at 25 MPH,” the weather service says.

Places affected by the warning include Lewistown, Huntingdon, Bedford, Breezewood, Warfordsburg, Mount Union, Clearville, Burnham, New Enterprise, Martinsburg, Everett, Belleville, Milroy, Highland Park, Honey Grove, McConnellsburg, Harrisonville, Yeagertown, Spruce Hill and Buffalo Moller. This includes the following Interstates: Interstate 70 from mile markers 147 to 169. Pennsylvania Turnpike from mile markers 136 to 186. Interstate 99 from mile markers 0 to 10.

The weather service adds: “Conditions can deteriorate quickly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snowy or icy roads. Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination. The snow will accumulate so quickly that it will be extremely difficult for road crews to keep the roads clear.”
