Donald Trump will make history when he is sworn into office today as oldest president to take oath.

Before Trump, President Joe Biden was the oldest president-elect. Biden was 78 when he was sworn in and is 82 now. Biden was born on November 20, 1942. As of today, he becomes the oldest ex-president, a title that former President Jimmy Carter held until he died aged 100 in December.

Trump will claim the title of oldest president to take the oath of office in just a few months.

Trump is 78, the same age as Biden when we were sworn in in 2021. But Trump’s birthday is June 14, which makes him a few months older than Biden was sworn in.

Trump is one of three presidents born in 1946, sharing the year with George W. Bush and Bill Clinton.

The 43rd president is 22 days younger than Trump and 44 days older than Clinton.

Barack Obama was inaugurated as the first black president of the United States on January 20, 2009.

Obama, 63, was born on August 4, 1961. The 44th president is now the youngest living president. He was also the fourth youngest president to take office at the age of 47.
