Donald Trump will make history when he is sworn into office today as oldest president to take oath.

Before Trump, President Joe Biden was the oldest president-elect. Biden was 78 when he was sworn in and is 82 now. Biden was born on November 20, 1942. As of today, he becomes the oldest ex-president, a title that former President Jimmy Carter held until he died aged 100 in December.

Trump will claim the title of oldest president to take the oath of office in just a few months.

Trump is 78, the same age as Biden when we were sworn in in 2021. But Trump’s birthday is June 14, which makes him a few months older than Biden was sworn in.

Trump is one of three presidents born in 1946, sharing the year with George W. Bush and Bill Clinton.
