When the American businessman and former president of the United States, Donald Trump, takes office for the second time as the country’s supreme leader, the spotlight shines on his family again.

Trump, 78, will be sworn in as the 47th president of the United States on Monday at noon ET on the West Front of the US Capitol in Washington, DC.

Trump, who has been married three times, has five children and 10 grandchildren. In particular, his eldest granddaughter, Kai Trump, has been the subject of social media intrigue ever since she made her political debut on stage at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin last July.

“To me, he’s just a normal grandfather,” Kai had said during his speech. “He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren’t looking. He always wants to know how we are at school.”

“A lot of people have put my grandfather through hell and he’s still standing,” she had added.

Kai is 17 years old. She is a junior at The Benjamin School, a private school in North Palm Beach, That was reported by The Palm Beach, part of the USA TODAY Network.

She is expected to be finished in 2026 and beyond play collegiate golf at the University of Miami.

At 17, Kai is just a year younger than Trump’s youngest child Barron Trump, who is 18.

Kai was born on May 12, 2007 and is the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump (formerly Vanessa Kay Pergolizzi), who divorced in 2018. She is the eldest of Donald Trump’s ten grandchildren and has been in the public eye from a young age, attending high-profile events such as her grandfather’s first inauguration and the White House Easter Egg Roll, USA TODAY previously reported.

Her father, Trump Jr., 47, is an American businessman who serves as vice president of the Trump Organization and former reality TV personality appearing on “The Apprentice.” He is an adviser to his father and was a constant fixture on Trump’s campaign trail leading up to the inauguration.

Although Kai was born and mostly raised in New York, she now lives in Jupiter, Florida with her mother. She moved to South Florida about four years ago when she was 13, according to her golf recruiting profiles.

Last year she announced that she won a women’s club championship at Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida -one.

During her speech at the RNC, Kai shared that she and her grandfather bond over a mutual love of golf.

“When we play golf together, if I’m not on his team, he’ll try to get into my head and he’s always surprised that I don’t let him get to me,” Kai said. “But I have to remind him that I’m a Trump too.”

Kai’s Election Night vlog, which gave a behind-the-scenes look at what happened at the president-elect’s headquarters on election night, went viral on social media and has since amassed more than 4.5 million views.

In the video, Kai can be seen getting ready for election night before heading to Mar-a-Lago, where her family and other Trump campaign officials watched the election results come in.

Kai also gave an inside look inside viral family photoincluding Elon Musk, taken at Mar-a-Lago on election night, with footage of Trump talking about “dark MAGA” hats.
