Rumors of the day:

  • WrestleVotes said the Solo Sikoa return segment SmackDown was “a hot topic of debate in creatives” the day of the show. He was originally supposed to open the show to address the loss to Roman Reigns.
  • According to Hugethe belief was that AJ Styles’ WWE contract was coming soon before he was injured and said an injury could mean WWE will put time on it.
  • While WrestleVotes said WWE will hold a major press event during Super Bowl weekend in New Orleans, Fightful Select says WWE reps denied it when asked.
  • They also say AEW’s at the end Double or nothing the event is not scheduled for Las Vegas this year.

  • Jordynne Grace and Josh Alexander are both done with TNA, says PW Insider. Grace is expected to go to WWE while Alexander’s deal is up next month and he is eyeing free agency.

  • Tomohiro Ishii was injured during his match on Collision last week, it says Wrestling Observerbut it is not considered serious.
  • In response to a question about Kamille’s AEW status during a recent Fightful Select Q&A podcast, Sean Ross Sapp said: “She’s under contract, but I haven’t heard anything about her future on screen since shortly after she ‘quit’ working for Mercedes (Mone).” Sapp added that some in the company wanted to end the Kamille/Mone storyline with a match between the two, but that apparently didn’t end up happening.
