The winter storm moves in tomorrow

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Happy Wednesday! We will continue to track the upcoming winter storm tomorrow and Friday, more information can be seen below on the topic. As for today, sunny skies are expected with highs in the low to mid 40s. It can be a bit windy at times, but we don’t expect anything major in the wind department. Tonight, temperatures will drop into the mid to upper 20s with partly cloudy skies overnight.

The winter storm begins Thursday and starts around mid-morning. Mostly, we expect snow showers for those north of I-30, mixed showers including freezing rain and ice for those on I-30 and south of it, and rain showers for those on I-20 and south. Snowfall accumulations could be around 2-6 inches in the northern part of the region, while precipitation accumulations could be as high as 4-5 inches between the showers that roll through Thursday and Friday morning. Beware of power outages and very difficult roads. High temperatures will drop slightly from the mid 30′s to lower 40′s.

By Friday afternoon, most of the conditions should dry out completely. The weekend promises to be pleasant with lots of sunshine on both days. Sunny skies even look set to continue into early next week as well. High temperatures will remain in the upper 30s and lower 40s for Friday before climbing into the low 50s just in time for Sunday. High, then drop back into the 40s early next week.
