Former RHOBH star Denise Richards’ husband Aaron Phypers is being sued for fraud over the Malibu wellness center

Aaron Phypers is being sued over an allegedly botched treatment given at his Malibu, California wellness center.

A lawsuit was filed against the husband of former Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star Denise Richards — who revealed this month that her breast implants ruptured while filming Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test — on Nov. 13, 2024, according to documents obtained by People.

Phypers, 52, is being sued for fraud by Rupert Perry on behalf of his late wife Elina Katsioula-Beall, who was treated at Phypers’ wellness center in 2023 for cancer.

Perry claims that Phypers offered to refund half of the money spent on a treatment for his wife’s cancer, but after apparently failing to improve her condition, Phypers allegedly refused to honor the verbal agreement.

According to the lawsuit, Katsioula-Beall, who was diagnosed with sarcoma in 2019, learned about a ‘stem cell treatment’ Phypers’ facility was performing on patients she hoped to try to treat her cancer.

Perry claims Phyper said the treatment ‘would cure or at least improve Katsioula-Beall’s condition.’

Phypers reportedly boasted a ’98 percent success rate, and he was so sure of it’ that he offered to refund half the cost of the treatment if it failed.

Perry says he and his wife paid $126,000 for the stem cell treatment sessions from July to September 2023, but Katsioula-Beall got bad news in December of that year when she was reportedly told her tumors had grown by 25 percent.

Believing that the treatment had not lived up to Phypers’ hype, they wrote to him requesting a refund of $63,000.

But the lawsuit alleges that “(Phypers) ignored her request and instead suggested she undergo another round of treatment.”

Perry claims he and his late wife later requested the $63,000 refund on February 8, 2024, and again on March 7 and March 29, with Phypers allegedly ignoring the requests each time.

Katsioula-Beall died of her cancer just under two months after the last request, on May 21, 2024.

On June 28, 2024, Mr. Perry with (Phypers) by phone, who acknowledged the debt but made a series of excuses for his failure to pay the $63,000,’ the lawsuit alleges.

Since there was no sign that his wife’s condition had improved after undergoing the stem cell treatment at Phypers’ wellness center, Perry claims he owes her estate 50 percent back.

Perry goes on to accuse Phypers of “wrongdoing,” which he claims was “intentional, willful and done with the intent to deprive Plaintiff of property and/or legal rights or otherwise cause injury.”

“This despicable conduct subjected Plaintiff to cruel and unjust hardship in willful disregard of his rights,” he added as he requested the case be tried to a jury.

So far, Phypers has not commented on the lawsuit, and he reportedly has yet to file a response to it in court.

It’s also unclear if his wellness center is still in business at all, as the location is listed as being ‘permanently closed’ on Google Maps, and Yelp users have also reported that it is no longer in business.

A website for the facility listed on its Instagram page also appears to be down.

Phypers had previously said on The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills during his wife Denise Richards’ brief stint on the show that the center used allopathic — or alternative — medicine as treatments, though it’s unclear whether evidence-based medicine is also part of the patients’ treatments .

Phypers, who had small roles as an actor in the 2010s, met his future wife Denise at his center.

During a 2020 episode of RHOBH, the cast asked about his business.

‘Everything you’ve been taught about how diseases are treated and how they work is not true,’ he began via People, before Denise urged him to ‘be careful’ about what he might say.

“Traditional is not traditional,” he explained. ‘It is allopathic. And allopathic, that means alternative medicine. Look it up.

‘It’s all a measurement of the frequency of the electromagnetic spectrum. I break things down so you can all heal yourselves -‘ he continued, before clarifying that he wasn’t ‘healing anyone’ himself, but instead allegedly removing ‘blockages, discord (and) information.’

He made more bizarre claims in the episode while giving his theory on why cancer develops.

‘Do you want to know why cancer comes in? Because it protects you from an infection your immune system didn’t respond to and you’d be dead in 12 hours,’ he said. ‘It’s your best friend who protected you from something that wants to shoot you in the head with a bullet.

That’s what cancer is,” he said, despite his words falling far short of accepted definitions of what cancer is — abnormal cell growth that can spread throughout the body and cause harm — he claimed he could ‘prove it all day long’.

‘We can split an atom with sound, cause a nuclear explosion, kill people. You can’t figure out if it’s cancer?’ Phypers said to Denise’s co-stars.

He has been married to the actress since 2018.

Phypers previously married actress Nicolette Sheridan in December 2015, but separated in June the following year.

She filed for divorce in July 2016, citing irreconcilable differences, and their divorce was finalized in August 2018.

Phypers and Richards’ relationship began while he was separated but still legally married in December 2017.

They married less than a year later on September 8, 2018, which was less than two full days after Phypers proposed to the former Bond girl.

Richards was previously married to Charlie Sheen, with whom she shares two daughters. She also adopted a third daughter in 2011, whom the Phypers adopted after their marriage.

According to Deadline, the couple will star in a new reality series titled Denise Richards And The Wild Things for E!, which will debut sometime this year.
