ITV’s This Morning’s Cat Deeley announces co-star’s engagement as she makes show comeback

ITV This Morning was brought to a halt on Monday when Cat Deeley announced that one of the show’s stars had some exciting news

This morning regular Nick Ferrari shared some heartwarming personal news live on air. In Monday’s episode, star host Cat Deeley dropped the announcement that Nick had become engaged to his long-term partner.

She couldn’t help but reveal: “We have breaking news, Nick Ferrari is officially off the market! I hear hearts breaking.” Vanessa Feltz joined in with mock horror, gasping, “No! Say it’s not ‘true’!”

Cat focused sharply on Nick and urged the details. The LBC legend, who joined from his studio, dished the dirt on the This Morning gang, admitting: “I know a nation’s heart is broken but I have to break the news, Vanessa, I’m sorry it this way, but yes, I am engaged to be married!”

The studio erupted into cheers and applause when Nick said he had finally decided to tie the knot with his love Clare, after 10 years of keeping her waiting. Speaking about their “idyllic” Christmas break, he added: “We had already been to Lapland, I took my family, my grandchildren, Clare and her children, we had a great time in Lapland. Then we were down in the south of the country . France, after 10 years together, I am fierce is nothing else, I finally decided that she can make me an honest man,” reports Manchester Evening News.

Ben Shephard came in and joked about how good things come to those who wait, while Cat wanted to know exactly how Nick popped the question to Clare.

The LBC star shared that he popped the question at their favorite overseas eatery. He said: “Now, this is the truth of the matter, I want her to play a part in designing her engagement ring. So she kind of knew it was coming.”

“We’d have to go to a hardware store; every now and then I’d get down on one knee. It’s the equivalent of a Homebase or B&Q and I’d say, ‘Clare, I’ve got a question’.

“She said, ‘Can you give me that screwdriver?’ I brought a little anniversary clip, plumbers will know what they are. When I actually proposed, the anniversary clip arrived and then we went into the village and bought a proper ring the next morning.”

However, Nick clarified that now they are both back in Blighty, the ring will be designed properly. The two This Morning stars were delighted with their colleague as they wished him all the best.

Ben replied: “Nick, really excited for you two, congratulations. What a wonderful way to start the year.”

Joining in, Vanessa revealed that she has met Nick’s new fiance many times, remarking: “You’re a very lucky man, absolutely amazing.”

This Morning is on ITV1 weekdays at 10 and on ITVX
