ITV This Morning viewers went back and asked the same question minutes after the latest show

This morning was thrown into chaos as viewers questioned why the Spin To Win segment is still part of the show.

During Wednesday’s (January 8) episode of ITV show, Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley returned to our TV screens as they presented the top stories of the day.

But just minutes into the contest, things didn’t seem to be going to plan as they struggled to find a winner. The duo called six lucky viewers, but none managed to answer the phone with the correct password, and some didn’t answer at all.

Cat dived straight into the segment and started by saying: “We have lots of different cash prizes up for grabs from £250 to a jackpot of £1,000.”

Ben warned viewers who have taken part in the competition: “Keep your phone close, we can call you in a minute and it’s really important that you answer your phone with today’s passphrase and turn the TV down because it always helps .”

Things didn’t get off to a good start when first caller Robert failed to pick up the phone. Caller number two missed the money when he didn’t pick up the phone with the correct phrase.

The couple decided to give the callers another chance, with Ben telling viewers: “When we call, you have to use the phrase. If your phone rings now, it’s us, it’s me and Deeley.” Cat joked: “I think I’m losing my mind.”

Despite the warning, they failed to get through to anyone and were forced to go ahead with the rest of the show.

Ben said: “No one picked up today so that means we’re going to spin and whatever it lands on now we’ll add to tomorrow’s prize.” After spinning the win, it was revealed that £750 will be added to the jackpot for Thursday’s show.

Viewers watching at home wasted no time sharing their reaction to the moment on X, formally known as Twitter. One viewer wrote: “Amazes me the amount of people who enter Spin To Win but can’t pick up the phone or answer the phone properly! If you’re going to enter, at least be ready for them calling, they literally do it between 10-12:30 every day #ThisMorning.”

Another fan fumed: “Spin to Win needs to be cancelled. The prizes are terrible and it’s definitely not good to watch.” A third added: “Why do these people bother to join Spin To Wins.”

This Morning is broadcast on weekdays from 10 on ITV and ITVX
