See map of Texas power outages when the 2025 winter storm hits with freezing weather

The The Electric Reliability Council of Texas issued a weather watch through Jan. 10, as temperatures drop across the state.

Like one winter storm system sweeping across the nation bringing heavy snow, ice and frigid temperatures, Texas is also experiencing the effects of the arctic blast.

During these days, with temperatures in the upper 20s to the low 30s, be prepared for slippery and dangerous roads.

According to ERCOT, there will be more demand for electricity this week. While ERCOT said it is prepared for the storm, there may be local outages in different counties.
