Upstate school districts announce eLearning day due to winter weather

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) – Some school districts have announced class changes for Friday due to expected winter weather.

FOX Carolina’s First Alert weather team said the Upstate could see its first snow in three years on Friday, Jan. 10,

One school district said its adverse conditions assessment team evaluated forecasts and the decision was made based on predictions and timing of snow and/or ice accumulation, which could result in unsafe road conditions, downed power lines and loss of electrical service.

Here’s a look at school districts that have announced changes:

Greenville County Schools will have an eLearning Day on Friday. Schools and office buildings will be closed. All activities, including athletic events and field trips, are canceled on Friday and Saturday.
All Anderson County school districts will hold an eLearning day on Friday.. All after school activities on Friday and at the weekend have been canceled and will be rescheduled accordingly.
Cherokee County School District holding eLearning Day on Friday. All after school activities are canceled on Friday and Saturday.
All Spartanburg County school districts holding eLearning Day on Friday.
Greenwood School District 50 will have an eLearning Day on Friday. Pupils and staff will not be at school tomorrow and all after school activities and sporting events have been cancelled.
School District of Oconee County will have an eLearning Day on Friday.
School District of Pickens County will have an eLearning Day on Friday. In addition, all activities scheduled for Saturday 11 January have been cancelled.
Abbeville County Schools will have an eLearning Day on Friday.
Union County Schools will have an eLearning Day on Friday.
