Mavericks-Trail Blazers start time changed due to winter weather in North Texas

As winter weather moved through North Texas on Thursday, the Dallas Mavericks still planned to play their game against the Portland Trail Blazers at the American Airlines Center.

Shortly after noon, the league announced a change in the kickoff time for the Mavericks-Blazers matchup. The game will now tip at 18.30, an hour earlier than the originally planned start time at 19.30.

A winter storm warning was in effect for several counties, including Collin, Dallas, Denton, Kaufman and Tarrant. Ellis remained under a winter road advisory. More than 1,000 flights from DFW International Airport and Dallas Love Field were canceled.
