Chicago weather: Snow arrives tonight, Friday’s commute will be affected

The next round of snow will arrive late tonight into Friday. The first half of the evening will bring rising clouds and then the snow will move into the early morning hours on Friday.

Expect an impact on Friday’s commute, particularly morning and midday journeys.

Locations along and south/east of I-55 will likely see the highest snow totals in the 1-3″ range. Areas north and west of I-55 will only see a dusting to an inch. Snow will taper off Friday afternoon and evening .

Saturday will be quiet with partly cloudy skies and high temperatures in the upper 20s. Scattered snow returns Sunday with temperatures near 30.

Colder air is set to arrive on Monday with dropping temperatures likely throughout the day. Temperatures will start in the 20s in the morning and likely drop into the teens by sunset.

Tuesday looks very cold with morning temperatures in the single digits and highs only in the mid-teens.
