Robbie Williams is the “Better Man” for the job.

During a Q&A following a screening of his new musical biopic in New York City, the British singer officiated the wedding for two audience members in attendance, according to pictures on social media shared from the event.

“At today’s BETTER MAN Q&A in NYC, Robbie Williams was vulnerable, receptive to the audience’s energy, took time to have a heart-to-heart with his daughter, and then a man in the audience asked him, as an ordained minister, to officiate a marriage with his fiance,” blogger @EzraCubero subtitle the X post on Sunday. “Incredible.”

Another X user caught the moment on video.

“By the power that absolutely no one has vested in me—and it’s not legally binding, but it’s legally binding in your heart and your heart and my heart, you say I do?” said Williams, 50, before donning the color-coordinated couple’s I-dos and prompting a round of applause.

Director Michael Gracey’s eccentric biopic/jukebox musicalin cinemas across the country, follows the life and career of the British pop star, albeit as a computer-generated ape-man. Playing his chimpanzee self, Williams narrates the film, which was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Original Song for the track “Forbidden Road.”

Williams told USA TODAY that the chimpanzee image was the “The Greatest Showman” director’s idea.

He said he was “completely and utterly obsessed” with Gracey’s idea that his musical biography portray him as a primate. “I’m like a performing monkey,” Williams often told Gracey, whom he befriended during “The Greatest Showman” run.

The election “has done what it was supposed to do, which is get people talking and be controversial,” Williams continued. “I’d say it’s about eight to 12 minutes where the audience goes, ‘What?’ and then you completely forget about it and you’re taken on a ride you’ve never seen.”
