Hulu top 10 movies – here are the 3 worth watching now

The best streaming servicesincluding Hulu, comes with deep content libraries. While that’s great because we get endless hours of TV shows and movies, figuring out what to watch can be a bit of a struggle. Luckily, Hulu has a top 15 shows and movies collection that gives you a look at what’s trending on the platform.

This week there are a ton of movies to choose from in the top 10, including a few movies from last year that have recently arrived on the streaming service. It includes a new psychological thriller starring Anne Hathaway and an absurdist comedy-drama starring Amy Adams. While just outside the top 10, the first three films of the “John Wick” franchise are now also on Hulu, and definitely worth checking out.

This psychological thriller from last year stars Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway as neighbors Alice Bradford and Céline Jennings. “Mothers’ Instinct” is set in 1960s America and begins with a terrible tragedy. The day after Céline’s birthday, her son Max (Baylen D. Bielitz) plays dangerously on the balcony of their suburban home. Alice spots him but is too late to save him and when Céline arrives she only sees Alice alone on the balcony

From there, the neighborly friendship between Alice and Céline turns sour, especially as the latter grows closer to the former’s son, Theo (Eamon O’Connell). If you love a classic Hitchcock thriller, then this star-studded period drama might be worth checking out now that it’s on Hulu.

‘Nightbitch’ (2024)

This black comedy horror film is one of 2024’s more absurd films. Based on the 2021 novel of the same name, “Nightbitch” stars Amy Adams as a mother who has put her career on hold to become a stay-at-home mom to her two-year-old son (Arleigh and Emmett Snowden).

Of course, there is nothing remarkable about that premise. No, what makes this movie so strange is that after a period of feeling isolated and frustrated, Mom notices that she has developed animal characteristics. More specifically…she thinks she’s turning into a dog. But can she actually change into a dog? Or is it all in her head? You’ll have to watch to find out.

‘Amber Alert’ (2024)

“Amber Alert” is a remake of a 2012 film of the same name. It stars Hayden Panettiere as Jaq, who ends up riding in a car with an Uber driver named Shane (Tyler James Williams). While initially an ordinary trip, things take a dramatic turn when the two receive an Amber Alert on their phones regarding a child abduction. They soon realize they are behind the would-be kidnapper’s car and a desperate chase begins as they try to save the child’s life.

While the original 2012 film was a found footage style film, this is a more polished dramatic thriller. The reviews ranging from positive to mixed, with many praising the majority of the film and its poignant premise, though many seem to indicate that the film doesn’t quite stick the landing. Still, you don’t need to invest a lot of time in the 90-minute “Amber Alert” to see if the thriller is for you.
