The Lightning’s Brayden Point itched against the Bruins after missing a team meeting

Jack Finley, 22, will make his NHL debut and replace Point in the lineup. So far this season in the AHL, playing for the Lightning’s affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, he has two goals, six points in 10 games.

So far this season, Point has appeared in 37 of a possible 41 games, registering 25 goals and 22 assists for 47 points. Although in the last five games he has only had two goals, three points.

On December 4, Point was named to the Canadian national team for the 4 Nations Face-Off, with Lightning head coach Jon Cooper also serving as bench manager.

The Lightning currently sit in third place in the Atlantic Division with a 23-15-3 record on 49 points, but only have a four-point cushion on the Ottawa Senators, who are the first team out of the playoffs.
