Over 500 people report feeling 2.8 magnitude earthquake in central Virginia, USGS says

More than 500 people reported feeling a magnitude 2.8 earthquake in Central Virginia on Tuesday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

“We are aware of a magnitude 2.8 earthquake that was felt in central Virginia. Our teams are contacting local officials now and we are working to assess the impact,” Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin said on X.

  3. Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
  4. Laurel, Virginia, USA
  5. Richmond, Virginia, USA
