NMA – Fantrax EPL GW-21 Player Choice

After a full festive period, we have now had time to gather our thoughts and reflect on an eventful first half of the season. The The FA Cup claimed the spotlight over the weekend, so our GW-21 kickoff isn’t until Tuesday. Don’t miss it!

And remember, January transfers can parachute in at any time!

Tuesday gives us three early games, so we Fantrax managers must be able to see six confirmed lineups (CHE, BOU, WHU, FUL, BRE & MCI) before our deadline. Then find NMA’s Predeadline Team News for commentary on rotation hits and one-week options!

Goalkeepers

Antonin Kinsky (ARS vs TOT$1.00)

A fantastic differential and budget enabling choice for the new Tottenham man who debuted in The FA Cup at the weekend. He may face a tough test against Arsenalbut Spurs need to improve and Arsenal are struggling at the top without Saka.

Defenders

Lewis Hall (NEW vs WOL, $15.10)

Hall is a good choice on both ends of the court for one Newcastle side that has been in tremendous form of late. Wolves have conceded five goals in their last two games, while Newcastle have been strong in all areas.

~

Lisandro Martinez (MOUTH vs SOU, $9.74)

He scored in the surprising draw against Liverpool and now faces Southamptonthe league’s bottom team at home, so he has a good chance to score again and look for a clean sheet. After Sunday’s exciting The FA Cup victory, morale should improve a bit now for Amorim’s men.

~

Josko Guardiol (BRE vs MCI$12.70)

Guardiol was a rare bright spark underneath The city’s terrible form and he continues to offer good value as Citizens continue their return to their best. Brentford may have scored five last time out, but the Bees’ FA Cup exit to a lower division shows they are truly inconsistent.

Midfielders

Amad Diallo (MOUTH vs SOU, $11.07)

Retained for a cameo appearance in The FA CupDiallo should be healthy for a start in the league. He has been United’s most threatening striker in recent times, so he should enjoy a start towards the bottom Southampton.

~

Cody Gakpo (NOT vs LIFE$9.81)

Salah will of course be a mainstay in anyone’s sides, but his strike partner Gakpo offers decent value for money and a different choice. He has scored in three consecutive league games, making it four out of five in recent games. Was rested in Liverpool’s The FA Cup win, so he is ready for Forest.

~

Jadon Sancho (CHE vs BOU, $4.89)

Budget choice Sancho got an assist last game as Chelsea looks to be returning to consistent form after struggling for most of the festive period. He looked lively before this round of form and can hope to continue to work well with Palmer.

~

Savio (BRE vs MCI$10.07)

He has recently stepped up to help Man City back to winning ways. He had three assists last time out against West Ham and he both scored and assisted in the game week before that. He’s good coming into this one.

Extenders

Ollie Watkins (EVE vs AST$12.99)

Watkins will get more minutes as he puts punches behind him, but some of his offensive teammates are struggling with their own. He looked lively Villa’s The FA Cup home win against West Ham and now he visits a transfer Everton side welcome back old-is-new manager David Moyes.

~

Raul Jimenez (WHU vs FULL$13.70)

Three goals in his last two league games gives Jimenez a well-deserved place in our front line. He has eight goals for the season. Unbeaten in last eight matches, Fulham looks to keep racking up points and scoring goals.

~

Liam Delap (IPS vs BRI, $8.63)

With a win and a draw in their last two league games (plus a home win in the FA Cup on Sunday), Ipswich are starting to click and look set to leapfrog the drop zone. Delap scored twice and assisted once during this time and rested on Sunday, he looks to have good prospects for more in an attractive home game.
