Rio Ferdinand labels Chelsea star Cole Palmer ‘rude’ and ‘out of order’ after Bournemouth draw

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has branded Chelsea star Cole Palmer “rude” and “out of order” for what he did against Bournemouth on Tuesday night.

Goals from Justin Kluivert and Antoine Semenyo canceled out Palmer’s early opener before Reece James headed home a free-kick. to claim a point late.

Palmer’s goal was a typical cold finish from Chelsea 22-year-old after Nicolas Jackson raced towards the Bournemouth box before slotting a ball through to the England international.

Palmer then did the rest as the Chelsea player dummyed a shot to floor Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers before rolling the ball into an empty net.

Man Utd legend Ferdinand loved the finish but described Palmer as “outrageous” and “out of order” after his audacious opener.

Ferdinand continued TNT Sports: “It’s rude. It was rude. It is out of order, it is done on the school playground. It’s rude, really outrageous.

“I’ll pay to see him every day of the week because I know I’m going to get something like that that makes me get out of my chair and make me scream.”

Pundit Peter Crouch added: “It reminds me a bit of Mesut Özil, the composure, it’s almost too relaxed, just putting the keeper down.

“The amount of people who get in that position, packed the stadium and tip it over the bar or wide, the ability for a young man to stop it, put the keeper down and roll it into an empty net, that’s what makes him special.”

Speaking about his side’s performance to the BBC, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca said: “I think in the first half we absolutely deserved to win the game. We should have scored three goals. When we closed in the second half, we dropped. We deserved to win the game , when we created so many chances.

“It was one of the best parts of the season in the first half. We were aggressive and we created the chances. We are a bit unlucky to score goals. We miss and then we concede. We have to continue. The bad thing, as I said is that after the punishment we fall and there is no reason why we should do that.

“The game was completely in our control and that is something we need to improve.

“I always have worries, even when we win games. This is the Premier League, when you don’t create chances and you don’t score, you have to be more worried.”
