American Primeval: Brutal New Western is the best show on Netflix

“American Primeval” is currently the most popular show on Netflix, according to the platform’s public ranking system.

The new Western miniseries premiered on the streaming service on January 9, with the simultaneous release of all six episodes. Based on real events in the 1850s, the brutally violent show explores the power struggle in the American West between pioneers, Mormons, Native Americans and the American military.

The cast includes Taylor Kitsch, Betty Gilpin, Kim Coates, Dane DeHaan, Saura Lightfoot-Leon and more.

A new medical drama is the most popular show on Max at the moment.

“The Pitt” also premiered on January 9, but only two episodes were released. The subsequent 13 installments fall on Thursdays until April 10. Starring Noah Wyle, the show covers a 15-hour emergency room shift at a fictional Pittsburgh hospital over the course of a single season.

Another new series is trending on Hulu right now. ABC sitcom “Shifting Gears,” which debuted Jan. 8, is the second most popular show on the platform.

Starring Tim Allen and Kat Dennings, the series follows a stubborn car dealership owner whose life takes an unexpected turn when his estranged daughter and her two children move in with him. “Shifting Gears” also features Seann William Scott, Daryl “Chill” Mitchell, Jenna Elfman and Brenda Song.

“Goosebumps: The Vanishing” returned for a second season on Disney+ on January 10.

Based on RL Stine’s famous book series, the supernatural horror show was first released in October 2023. Each season features a different cast and focuses on one episode of the story. The latest film stars David Schwimmer, Ana Ortiz, Jayden Bartels and Sam McCarthy.

The 2022 drama miniseries “The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey” is currently trending on Apple TV+.
