Why is a walk-on and content creator no longer with the Ohio State football team?

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Walk-on defensive end and content creator Caden Davis is no longer with the Ohio State football team.

The news was first reported by The light Wednesday morning with OSU football sports information director Jerry Emig confirming Davis’ departure.

Davis took to Instagram afterward to share the news.

“Being a Buckeye has always been a dream come true for me since I was a kid,” Davis wrote. “I am so grateful to the coaches, staff and players for welcoming me to the team. I truly cannot thank them enough for allowing me to live my dream for the past 2 years and guiding me the way they have .

“With changes in the NCAA and personal career reasons, I will not be a PWO (preferred walk-on) at OSU. I appreciate everyone’s support and your help in respecting my privacy about the decision made. Thanks, Go Bucks.”
