M25: Bridge works to close part of the A3 at the weekend

A stretch of the A3 in Surrey will be completely closed in both directions this weekend for the installation of a footbridge.

The closure, between the junction 10 junction and the B2215/A247 near Send and Burntcommon, will be from 21:00 GMT on 17 January to 6.00 on January 20.

Diversions will be in place, southbound via Cobham, Chessington, Great Bookham and Effingham which re-joins the A3 at Send and northbound via East Clandon, Effingham, Fetcham and onto the M25 towards Wisley.

The work is part of a £317m project to improve Junction 10, the busiest part of the M25 which sees more than 300,000 vehicles pass through each day. National Highways has been asked to comment.
