Indiana Pacers vs Philadelphia 76ers Live Score: Highlights, Stats

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Pacers (23-19) host what’s left of the Philadelphia 76ers (15-24), as Joel Embiid, Kyle Lowery, Caleb Martin, KJ Martin and Jared McCain were already ruled out, and Paul George (17.2 ppg, 5, 9 rpg, 4.7 apg) , and Guerschon Yabusele (10.1 ppg, 39.6% on 3s, 5.4 rpg) were suspended just before game time. The Sixers have lost four straight and seven of their last nine.

Tyrese Maxey (26.0 ppg, 5.8 apg), Kelly Oubre Jr. (13.4 ppg, 5.8 rpg) and Indianapolis native Eric Gordon (6.1 ppg, 37.1% on 3s) are among the Sixers’ regulars who are fully healthy. Stay tuned here for updates throughout the game:

The Pacers took the lead when Myles Turner hit another 3 and a foul was called on the rebound while Pascal Siakam had a free throw opportunity. Ben Sheppard just added a layup off a missed attempt by Pascal Siakam and the Pacers are up 13-3.

The Pacers’ late-first half rumble continued through the first few minutes of the third quarter, and the Sixers started the half on a 9-2 run, but the Pacers responded with a Myles Turner 3 to get things going.

The Sixers outscored the Pacers 14-5 in the final 3:45 to get back in this and make it a two-point game. The Pacers had some struggles against the zone and some turnovers and started to get a little messy.

At halftime, the Pacers are 24 of 46 from the floor, 5 of 19 from 3, 8 of 12 at the line for 1.21 points per game. possession. 76ers are 23 of 48, 4 of 16, 9 of 12 for 1.13 ppg. possession. Aaron Nesmith leads the Pacers with 12 points and Pascal Siakam has eight points. Tyrese Maxey has 15 points, Kelly Oubre Jr. has 12 and center Adem Bona has 11.

Starters return to the floor, and that leads to sharper ball movement toward the zone and easier buckets. Tyrese Haliburton has a pair of long jumpers. Aaron Nesmith hit another 3 and has 12 points. Andrew Nembhard hit a step-back 3. As a team, the Pacers are 11 of 18 in the second quarter and 4 of 9 from 3 for 1.48 points per. possession.

The Pacers’ bench heavy ranks have faced a lot of zone in recent weeks, and it’s happening again. The Pacers have had some success against it, but only so much. Thomas Bryant has seven points this quarter, including a 3, and Ben Sheppard also hit a 3, but they are 3 of 13 from 3 as a team that doesn’t force Philly to leave that zone. The Sixers have scored on some easy run-outs this quarter and are 7 of 10 from the floor in the period.

Aaron Nesmith has again been effective right out of the break. He has nine points and moves well inside the 76ers zone. He just cut across the zone, took a pass on the baseline, drove around a defender and scored a layup. He has nine points on 3-of-4 shooting to lead the Pacers.

At the end of one, the Pacers are 12 of 22 from the floor, 1 of 8 from 3 and 3 of 4 from the line for 1.18 points per possession. possession. The 76ers are 9 of 20, 2 of 6 and 3 of 6 for 0.97 points per possession. possession.

The Pacers woke up after the timeout and have dominated the short-handed Sixers ever since. They have outscored the Sixers 15-4 in the final six minutes and went on an 8-0 run there. They are 7 of 13 from the floor in that stretch. Myles Turner just threw down a rim-rocking dunk and had an excellent stretch early as he had a layup off a throw, hit a rebound to Andrew Nembhard for a layup and blocked a shot as part of a 6-0 run. Aaron Nesmith also hit a 3-pointer in his return to the floor at Gainbridge.

The Sixers are 3 of 4 from the floor to start and the Pacers are 0 of 3 and Pascal Siakam just made 1 of 2 at the free throw line. So basically, the Pacers are off to the kind of slow start you’ve seen from them in the past against undermanned, injured teams. Rick Carlisle just called timeout to try and get them back in gear.

Pacers forward Aaron Nesmith and All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton are both off the injury report. The only Pacers players still listed as injured are centers Isaiah Jackson and James Wiseman, who are likely out for the season with Achilles tendon injuries.

The Sixers are much less healthy. Strikers Paul George and Guerschon Yabusele were ruled out around half an hour before tip-off with injuries. MVP Joel Embiid is out with swollen knees. Guards Kyle Lowry (right hip strain) and Jared McCain (meniscus tear) are out, as are forwards KJ Martin (stress reaction, left foot) and Caleb Martin (right hip strain).

The Pacers play their final game before their Paris trip on Saturday, and they found out on Friday that they won’t be dealing with Joel Embiid and Victor Wembanyama in succession. Embiid, the 2022-23 MVP and five-time All-NBA selection, will be out at least 7-10 days to deal with swelling in his left knee, the Sixers said Friday via press release. They will also be without veteran guard Kyle Lowry and forwards KJ Martin and Caleb Martin. Paul George and Guerschon Yabusele are doubtful. Thanks in large part to the injuries, the Sixers have lost four straight and seven of their last nine games.

The Pacers have a history of not taking teams seriously when they’re undermanned, but they seem to have moved past that in recent weeks. They have won 13 of their last 17 games, and their four losses came to the teams in first place in the Eastern and Western Conference (Cleveland and Oklahoma City), the defending NBA champion (Boston) and the newly crowned NBA Cup champion (Milwaukee) ) so they haven’t stubbed their toe since their 10-15 start. Tyrese Maxey still gives the Sixers enough firepower to be taken seriously, so here’s guessing the Pacers will.
