Oswego County is under a lake effect snow warning from Monday through Wednesday

The National Weather Service issued a lake effect snow warning at 03.43 Sunday, valid from Monday at 13.00 to Wednesday at 1:00 PM for Oswego County.

The weather service comments: “Heavy snow effect on the lake is expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 3 feet in the most persistent lake snow in the far northern parts of the county, with lesser amounts farther south.”

“Travel will be very difficult with very poor visibility and deep snow cover on the roads,” the weather service describes. “During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow with greatly reduced visibility to dry conditions just a few kilometers away. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather, visibility and road conditions.”
