The Wawa wave continues in Tallahassee with the grand opening of its second location just two weeks away.

Located at Blair Stone and Miccosukee roads, it is scheduled to open its doors at 8 on Friday 31 January. It includes a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:30 a.m. – making this opening the first in 2025 for the convenience store chain.

Two months ago, Wawa debuted its first store at Hartsfield Road and Capital Circle Northwest. Residents mobbed the store, all eager to be the first inside to grab the company’s popular coffee, grab-and-go bites and menu items. “We’re excited to kick off 2025 with our second store in Tallahassee with a great team, everything is set to fulfill the lives of our friends and neighbors,” Nancy Dulaney, director of store operations at Wawa, said in a statement.

“We look forward to adding our second store here to extend our reach of our unique brand of fresh food, beverage and convenience to the capital to further our commitment to providing our new friends and neighbors not only with a new level of convenience, but a strong, committed community partner.”

The Pennsylvania-based company plans to open 20 stores throughout Florida’s Panhandle, including four to six locations in Tallahassee over the next five to eight years.

The company has said it will spend an estimated $7.5 million to build each store, and an average of 35 employees will be hired for each location.
