How much snow is expected in NJ? Jersey Shore snow predictions

TRENTON – The entire Jersey Shore can expect anywhere from 2 inches to 4 inches of snow Sunday as a winter storm barrels through New Jersey.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for much of southern New Jersey, Central Jersey and the Jersey Shore, while North Jersey faces a winter storm warning with higher snowfall. The latest forecast from the Weather Service called for 2 inches to 3 inches of snow in Toms River and 3 inches to 4 inches in Long Branch. Parts of the coast could see more of a wintry mix.

Snowstorm Sunday

Snow is expected to begin late Sunday morning and continue through the evening, according to the weather service. The heaviest snowfall is expected along the Interstate 95 corridor and northwestern parts of the state, where anywhere from 6 inches to 8 inches is expected.

The latest forecast is not just trending towards more snow, but also colder. In the wake of the storm, temperatures are expected to drop from Sunday evening and approach single digits on Monday evening, the weather service said.

In Toms River, the Weather Service forecast a low temperature of 6 degrees and a high temperature of 20 degrees Monday evening with a minimum wind chill of minus 8 degrees.

The cold temperatures mean an increased risk of frostbite and frostbite, and pipes can freeze in homes.
