Canton residents gather at Pleasant Grove Baptist to honor MLK Jr.’s lasting legacy

In honor of Martin Luther King Junior Day on January 20, residents of Canton, NC, held a service to honor the life and legacy of the late civil rights leader.

Locals gathered at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church to discuss Dr. King’s impact on society and the influence he continues to have today and into the future.

The service was one of many celebrations for the civil rights activist, with others held over the weekend and more planned for Monday throughout western North Carolina.
