FAMU announces campus closure ahead of Wednesday’s expected winter storm

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Ahead of what could be a wintry midweek forecast, Florida A&M University has announced changes to their class schedules.

According to a press release, FAMU’s main campus closes on Tuesday at 3 p.m. Any remaining classes will be held virtually.

The university also noted that “the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering will remain open until 3 p.m. on Tuesday” unless Florida State University decides to close or cancel classes.

FAMU’s food services close on Tuesday at 18.00 before the storm. The University’s Venom Shuttle service will operate from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m

On Wednesday, FAMU’s main campus, the Educational Research Center for Child Development, the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, the FAMU Developmental Research School (DRS) and the Quincy Extension Farm will close their doors to keep all students and staff off the roads.

The university’s food service opens from 11 a.m. to 18.00. The University’s Venom Shuttle service will run from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m
